Roots 2 Coaching is managed and funded by Somerset Activity & Sports Partnership and forms a key part of our Coaching Development function. It is one of a number of services provided by the partnership which include managing the Community Coaching Sports Scheme, through accredited and non accredited training, raising professional standards for coaches and coaching and sign-posting coaches to other professional development opportunities, providing information on how they can fund these opportunities. The advent of the new intiative 'Registered Coach' which came into effect from Autumun 2010 for all coaches in Somerset enables R2C to oversee these aims and objectives.

It's brief is to create an online tool for coaches that operates inside the existing "delivery system for sport" and within the parameters of the UK Coaching Framework.
